Historical Kekova tour
Kekova, which is a paradise of the world where nature and history are integrated, contains extraordinary beauties. Kekova, a place where blue voyagers can easily reach and sail and their yachts can anchor safely, exhibits incredible beauties intertwined with history. Transportation to Kekova by sea can be done by boats rented from Kale Çayağzı.

The ancient city of Aperlai is located at the Sicak Pier, and Toprakada and Karaada at the tip of the peninsula. After that, Kekova Island lies. Because of this island, the whole region is called Kekova. Kekova Island was submerged by earthquakes, so it was called the sunken city. Opposite of Kekova Island is Kaleköy and further ahead Üçağız Village, a quiet bay for yachts.

This is a region where history, nature and today's life are intertwined. Aperlai on the Sicak Pier, the Sunken City, Simena in Kaleköy, Theimussa in Üçağız and Istlada on Gökkaya bay are very close to each other. Apart from these seaside cities, there is the ancient city of Tyberissos in Cevreli, which is 2 km from Üçağız and Apollonia in Kılıçlı. Tyberissos is located on a 365 m high hill overlooking the plain, formerly known as Tirmisin. At the foot of the mountain, there are nearly a dozen Lycian sarcophagi and Lycian rock tombs in the form of pigeon nests, which belong to the Hellenistic and Roman Periods. The ancient city is located on two peaks of the hill. To the north is the city's acropolis. On the lower south hill, there is a church built with its stones over the Apollo temple in Doric order.

If you go from Cevreli to Kapaklı, you will reach the place called Inişdibi after 4 km. If you take a 10-minute walk to the east of this area, on the sea side, you can have the chance to see the ancient city of Istlada, which is famous for its interesting structures. Since the cities here are small, a few of them were united and represented in the Lycian Union. For example; Aperlai, Simena, Apollonia and Isinda were represented in this union. After 2 km from Cevreli, the road takes us to Kekova, a paradise on earth. This road ends at Üçağız. However, from here you can see Simena in Kaleköy, the sunken city, and Aperlia in Sicak Pier.
